Harvey Fertilizer & Gas has been serving Eastern North Carolina since its foundation in 1871, always operating at the heart of the agricultural economy. Our growth and development has closely paralleled the evolution and development of American farming. A continuing legacy of service has allowed us to add value to our customers for over 140 years. We are grateful to those customers who acknowledge our service and continue to return year after year.
Harvey’s applies dry and liquid crop nutrients, lime, and a full line of crop protection products. Custom blends of all of these products are available to meet the specific needs of your farms.
Soil sampling services are offered at each agronomy location to make accurate nutrient recommendations.
Seed Treatment is the process of taking seed and custom applying a crop protection product to coat the seed before planting. Common coatings include, but are not limited to, Fungicides, Insecticides, and/or Nematicides. Harvey’s is a licensed treating facility with licensed applicators using technology from Bayer, Monsanto, Syngenta, Valent, and others to give our customers the best seed protection on the market. Our seed treating facility allows us to handle and treat bulk seed or paper bags, whichever is preferred by our valued customers. Seed Treatment has come a long way in the past few years due to rising commodity prices and demand by growers for better stands. Please feel free to contact us about any seed treating needs you may have.
Eastern North Carolina has a deep seeded heritage of cotton growing dating back to colonial America. It reached its height in the “Roaring ’20s”, when, in 1926, North Carolina cotton farmers grew 1.8 million acres of cotton–in all-time high. Harvey’s has been involved in the cotton industry since the company’s formation in 1871, but opened its first cotton gin in 1991. Cotton ginning services are now offered at three locations in LaGrange, Bethel, and Stantonsburg.
